The Ilikai Hotel is the hotel featured in the "Hawaii Five-O" television series, in which Jack Lord stands on the balcony during the opening credits. The blue-and-white exterior of this iconic hotel has not changed much, save for some minor renovations. Located at the "entrance" to Waikiki, the Ilikai sits right between the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Modern Honolulu, taking advantage of the Hilton's weekly fireworks show and luaus, and the Modern's delectable restaurants and bars. Nearby is Ala Moana Shopping Center, Hawaii's largest shopping center and one of the largest open-air malls in America. Just two blocks away is the Hawaii Convention Center, making the Ilikai a convenient place for those on attending conferences and conventions.

Thirty stories high and offering balcony views of the city and ocean, the Ilikai was designed by the same architect of Seattle's Space Needle, John Graham. The popular Morimoto Waikiki right next door serves innovative Japanese food created by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto.
