About Sheraton Princess Kaiulani
Princess Victoria Kaiulani was born in Honolulu on October 16, 1875. Her name means "the royal sacred one," and she was the only child born into the Kalakaua dynasty and was second in line to the throne after her aunt Queen Emma Liliuokalani. On her former estate and one of the world's most famous playgrounds stands the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, linking Hawaii's royal past to the present cosmopolitan heart of Waikiki.
Sheraton Princess Kaiulani houses 1,142 rooms, including 10 suites, each with a view of the crystal blue waters of the Pacific, lush Koolau Mountains, or Honolulu city lights. Most rooms have private balconies from which guests can enjoy these stunning views right from their room. All rooms include mini refrigerators, in-room safes, coffeemakers, ice buckets and drinking glasses, Kona coffee and Tazo teas, and video check-out.
Named after a crucial figure in Hawaiian history, this hotel wants its guests to do more than merely have a place to sleep; guests have opportunities for cultural and history enhancement. Upon check-in, guests are given a Huaka'i Imi a Loa'a scavenger hunt card, encouraging guests to explore the historical treasures scattered throughout the hotel and to connect with hotel staff in searching for the answers. Once submitted with a hotel stay survey at checkout, guests will be placed into a drawing for a signature Sheraton princess Kaiulani gift item. Throughout the day, guests can join various cultural activities, such as Hawaiian arts and crafts, pineapple tasting, lei making, Hawaiian naming, kukui nut bracelet making, hula lessons, fish feeding, Hawaiian quilting, and ukulele lessons. Guests may take a tour of the life of Princess Kaiulani.
Creation, A Polynesian Journey is a cultural event that occurs five days a week in the Ainahau Showroom on the premises. This lavish performance tells the story of the Polynesian's epic journey through song and dance. Watch volcanic eruptions and the birth of the islands. Watch the Samoan fire-knife dance and Maori haka. Enjoy a sumptuous Polynesian dinner. The cast of this performance was personally invited to perform for President Barack Obama at the White House in 2009.
The Link @ Sheraton is a multimedia communications and social networking hub, which combines the functionality of a business center with the amusement of an entertainment center for guests to connect with others.
